We are adventurers. Pioneers. Explorers. The pristine nature of human spirit is to push boundaries and to create from within ourselves. Pause and take a look around. Everything that you see, use and interact with was created from the human imagination. Works of art, homes, cars, even furniture. These creations all came from a single person’s thoughts, and that person then made the choice to act on those thoughts and explore what could become.
Exploration is not limited to adventurers of hundreds of years ago. A person who goes camping is an explorer. A person who tries a new food is an explorer. A person who takes a new route to work is an explorer. The state of adventurism is birthed from our curiosity, and that curiosity helps to push each and every one of us to new limits.
The only certainty that we have is that we are uncertain about everything else. The world is full of what ifs, who knows, and whys, and instead of shying away from these questions we can all embrace them. This is an integral part of our curiosity.
How Being an Adventurer Leads to Growth
It is highly important to venture forth and experience life. Staying in one place and doing one thing often leads to stagnancy and can be limiting to your personal and professional growth. The more we learn, experience, and enjoy leads to a better understanding of ourselves and helps to focus us towards our true desires. Just the state of traveling and exploring will make us healthier, relieves stress, and boost our spirits higher than we have ever encountered.
When we do something different, adrenaline is released into our bodies. This makes us excited. This makes us jump and move and thrive. All of these actions are positive and proactive. They inspire us and uplift our spirits.
Find it within yourself to explore. To go travel around the world. To order something different at the diner down the corner. Break the circular habits that you have and observe your actions change and happiness rise.
What is Stopping You from Doing Something Different?
You likely have fears, doubts, and conflicts in your head. They are always present and pulling you away from doing what you truly desire to do. These are the “what ifs”. These simple constructs of your mind are what impede you from actually reaching out and grabbing your dreams.
All one must do is realize that these are thoughts. These all are inside of us. We can control and remove any negative thought just as we can create any positive thought and watch it flourish. So when you have a doubt or a fear, realize that it is something that is only in your head. Life still goes on around you, and those fears only limit us from reaching our dreams.
Take Actions and Explore
Tomorrow, when you are going to work, take different route. When you pack your lunch in the morning, make something different than you normally do. When you plan your next vacation go somewhere completely new. Doing something different is how we can begin to venture forth and explore what is around us.
The choice to experience is all yours. No one but yourself can make something happen. It may seem difficult and it may be scary, but sometimes we just have to take that leap of faith and do something that we have never done before. If we don’t, what changes?
