A person who lives their life by their passions vastly outshines someone who is stuck in the rut of monotony. We are all raised to believe that we must go to school, learn a trade or specialty, then begin a job working for someone. But what if that wasn’t true. What if we could all follow our very own passions and dreams in life. Some want to be artists, some want to design, some want to be doctors, some want to repair cars, some want to travel and write. Each of us has a unique calling that draws us to happiness. The common denominator behind all of this? Business and entrepreneurship.
Not everyone is dissatisfied by the 9 to 5 routine. There are millions if not billions of people on this planet who love the steady income and security that comes with it. The great thing is, that is ok! The part that is not continuous with the progressive nature of our society is the vast amount of people who are working jobs they hate for barely enough cash to survive only for the purpose of necessity. That needs to change. The best, if not only way to do this, is to empower others to start their own companies, to provide for themselves, and to create an income stream for themselves where there is typically not one.
Your Imagination is your Greatest Friend
To live the life that we all dream of, the first step that we all must take is to tune into our imaginations. We are the most creative beings that we have ever encountered and our imagination is what propels the human race forward through time. You need to get in the habit of writing down and remembering each and every idea that you have. Eventually, one of these ideas is going to resonate with you. Your imagination combined with your life experiences is the source of your creativity. You simply need to access your mind to unleash your creativity.
From all of your ideas, you need to then pick something that aligns with you. It is something that you believe in and something that you are passionate about. This is how a truly successful life is made. You spend your time doing what you love and only work for a cause you support.
Use your Imagination to Create a Product or Service
Once you have an idea, something that you are passionate about and something that you know deep down that you could spend the majority of your life doing, it is time to brainstorm again. You take those ideas and turn them into a product or service. So for example, if your passion is helping people one at a time then you could offer a mentor-ship or counseling service. If you passion is designing images and graphics then you could offer graphics, logos and other services. Your creative journey doesn’t end until you have a clear idea on something to sell.
Decide How to Actually Make a Profit
Next comes your ability to actually make a profit on that product or idea. This part can be difficult, but with a little time you can decide how to actually make a living. Having an online store is extremely helpful. You can sell a product or service right from your computer. Or perhaps you need a physical location to be able to interact directly with your audience. Basically, you need to decide how to price your idea and how to distribute it out to your future customers. If what you are offering has value, then there will be someone to buy it.
Market Your Product
Now you need to market your product. This is actually much easier than many make it out to be. All you need is the knowledge to be able to do it correctly.
- Have a high quality website built. Either learn how to make one yourself or spend a couple thousand dollars to have one professionally done. This is so important it cannot be over stated. In the digital era, you need to have a quality site.
- Next is to put out content. You should have a blog section in your site that regularly produces material related to your business and does not sell. All you are doing is providing value to people.
- Use social media to make connections. Twitter is very important. Build a targeted twitter audience to attract the attention of customers in your industry, and use other sites like Linked In, Facebook, and Pinterest to showcase you and your service or product.
This will take a few months to really get off of the ground, but once you have content, people engaged with the content that you are producing, and the proper channels in place to distribute the content, then you will begin to see sales grow and a people begin to purchase your product or service.
Experience Your Dreams Coming True
It may take a week, a month, or six months, but eventually you will make your first sale, then your second, then your third… The feeling from your very first profit is amazing. All of the hard work you put into your dream is finally paying off. Your creative capacity and your drive came together as one to build something that you are passionate about. The process is not easy, and you will make many mistakes. I have made more than my fair share, but each failure is an opportunity to learn and grow. We can move forward with our lives knowing that we are doing what we want to be doing, and nothing else.
